The museum
The Ernie Pyle World War II Museum features exhibits highlighting the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist’s life and the war and soldiers he covered as a correspondent. The museum includes the farm house where Pyle was born and Quonset huts showcasing memorabilia, films and educational material related to WWII military history, veterans, soldiers, journalism and the daily life of “The Greatest Generation.”

The museum is closed to the public for the season and will re-open the first weekend in May 2026. Each year, the museum is open May through Veterans Day in November.
During the regular season, May-November, hours are:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday
All times are Eastern Standard Time.

Admission is free. Donations may be made in the gift shop.
