70th Anniversary
On April 18, 2015, the Ernie Pyle Museum held an event to honor Ernie Pyle on the 70th anniversary of his death. Members of the American Legion posted colors. Approximately 60 WWII vets and many family members attended. WWII Tank Commander Harry Momi presented the museum with a photograph he made of Ernie Pyle while he was sitting on Momi’s tank. The photograph is thought to be the last photograph made of Ernie Pyle before he was killed.
